The food was excellent-service was fine. We sat outdoors on a beautiful day-It was a bit windy so the umbrella was a bit dangerous toward the end of our meal-it tried to take away our table! I would highly recommend this-we will definitely go back-I would like to try other times of evening to have a burger and or entree. We just had breakfast. The portions were large and the price was average-a good amount of food for the price!

Didn’t know what to expect but liked décor minute we entered. It kept getting better with menu, wait staff, etc. I had a Reuben sandwich on pumpernickel rye and best coleslaw ever! Husband had shaved prime rib melt on grilled sourdough and a gourmet side of fresh fruit. Both meals were attractive and tasted great.

The staff is always welcoming and friendly. They even remember guests that go there often. The food is hearty and very tasty. My favorite is breakfast but it’s a great place to go any time of the day. It is always clean and neat. Great place for families or for just yourself.

“Authentic Food Authentic People”
Who would have thought that in West Bend WI you would find a restaurant with amazing food and amazing people ( patrons and owner). Delious lightly battered cod, amazing German potato salad, fresh bread and a grasshopper pie. Might seem pedestrian food to some, but having dined around the world, this food was truly authentic in freshness and flavor. Not to mention a Bloody Mary that can double as a salad ( you have to see it to believe it). Bar was tended by the owner and German pastry chef…a real treat to see her great regulars and newbies alike with warmth and charm. So…if you ever get to West Bend WI you really must try this restaurant. A true gem.

Hectic weekend found us hungry in the early afternoon in West Bend. Stopped in for lunch. I had been wanting to come for dinner some time but it hadn’t worked out yet. I had a sauerbraten sandwich and a side of German potato salad and a Wartstein Pilsner and it was the perfect taste of Germany. The sauerbraten was flavorful and tender just like a dinner portion should have been. The potato salad was warm and really hit just the right notes, not overdone with bacon and vinegar although certainly present. The beer even tasted fresh and altogether was just the lunch I was hoping for.
My wife really enjoys Reuben sandwiches and she was very happy with hers, among the top tier for her.
The service was genuine and more than competent for a pleasant relatively light and simple lunch. Just what we were looking for.

I got the heart attack burger with a Bloody Mary. The food was like a five star. With a two star price. And the bloody was as well amazing. I can’t say enough for the service and food. I keep coming back. Last time it was the ribs. A+++++ in my book. My girlfriend had a different burger and loved it. Fast and friendly.
