Finally had a meal here after 4 years of talking about it and it was worth the wait with today’s visit.
This building has historical value in Thiensville, as I take it, the building has been part of the community since 1855, if the provided information is correct (related by Uncle Google).
Our visit was for both of to try one of their specialty burgers; however the Fish fry smelled delicious and with the nudge of the bartender/server, I just had to order the dish.
The pictures shown of the fish fry, hopefully shows the amount of food you receive for about $13, and it is well worth it. The fish was not greasy, even to the last filet, nor was it fishy in taste or smell.
I am not usually a fan of coleslaw, but this was pretty darn good. The fries are hand cut and again, not greasy, but could be a little crunchier.
My wife had the Cowboy burger, “well done” of course, not my preference but she said it was still nice and moist with a great flavor. If your don’t voice your opinion on the doneness of the burger, it will be a juicy medium with no pink, sounds delicious!
We will definitely be back in the next few weeks, as it is a 20 minute drive to Skippy’s, but worth the drive. Check out Skippy’s as soon as you can! From TripAdvisor.com:
“Great Cole Slaw”
Reviewed November 24, 2013
It was time for our weekly Friday Night Fish Fry again. We had never been in Skippy’s in Thiensville before, so we thought we’d give it a try. We have a game, of sort, trying new fish fry restaurants every Friday. We opted for the beer battered cod at the fair price of $9.00 per plate. We were served in a timely manner with an ample portion of fried cod, french fries, marble rye bread, a wedge of lemon, tartar sauce and some of the creamiest best tasting cole slaw I have ever had. This is a corner tavern with a small dining room behind the bar area. Things are a little tight and out dated at Skippy’s, but the food and service made up for it.

Best Burgers and Bloody’s!
Skippy’s has recently won an award for the Best Neighborhood Bar. One visit, and it’s easy to see why. I dare anyone to visit Skippy’s during a weekday, and grab a burger. Not only does Skippy’s have some of the tastiest burgers in southeast Wisconsin, but the bartender Cindy will keep you entertained, and sipping on some strong tasty drinks. My wife and I recently stopped in for a burger and bloody mary. The bloody’s were AWESOME, and my wife…who can take or leave a hamburger, polished her BR Egg Burger off before I was halfway done with mine! She later said that it was one of the best Burgers she’s had. I love this place, and always feel at home.

I love this place. Burgers are amazing and the staff are wonderful. Wisconsin Burger with Sour Cream and Chive Fries are my staple!
