My husband and I visited Hob Nob on a recent Friday night. As always, the place was comfortable and cozy. Service was impeccable (thank you, Nicole!), it was tastefully decorated in an older supper club decor, so no trendy poshy place is this. It almost feels like you are stepping back in time, but in a comfy way! He had the fish fry and I had the scallops. All meals come with fresh baked rolls, real butter, salad, choice of soups, the main course with a vegetable or potato selection, even the fish fry comes with all of this! i had to take my soup home-too much food, but all delicious! No room for dessert-no way,but they looked awesome! Thank you, Hob Nob! You are reliably grand and always a treat! P.S. We did not have reservations but were accomodated even thought he place was hopping as was the bar! They had some nice live music as well. Nice touch!

Reviewed February 19, 2015This supper club has been around for a very long time & the food is still fantastic. Great view of Lake Michigan. Lobster & steaks are out of this world & the baked French onion soup is also very good. They make the best brandy old fashion cocktails. They added on an extra room yrs., ago, but I find that to be like a bland banquet hall. I would recommend making reservations & state that you want to be seated in the bar area, which still is the “old supper club” atmosphere. If you have room for dessert, try one of their ice cream blended drinks. It’s enough for two people to share, but sooo good!

“A very pleasant dinner experience – but come hungry”

The HobNob supper club is on Sheridan Road, right beside Lake Michigan. We were inspired to come here after reading Ron Faiola’s book on Wisconsin Supper Clubs and because I got a free night at a local Racine hotel. With a 6:30PM reservation, we were seated at a table right next to the crowded bar (our choice) because the windows behind the bar looked right onto the lake but by 7, it was too dark to see out. If we come another time, we would get a table in another room because the people at the bar (waiting for tables) were quite noisy. The clientele was a mix of couples (both young and old), foursomes and families. I had a brandy old-fashioned sweet (just to see what it was like) while my wife got a Pink Squirrel, which was a large swirl of ice-cream with liquor poured over it. If she’d known, she could have got it as a blended drink. All the dinners included a bread basket, soup and salad. My wife had mushroom soup, spinach salad and a sole dish. I had mushroom soup, house salad with blue cheese dressing and the duckling which came with an orange sauce and stuffing. My sister-in-law had onion soup (without a cheese topping), Caesar salad and a giant chicken breast Marsala. She had leftovers to take home. All the food was very tasty. The 4 desserts on offer were not that special, we were all very full and my wife already had ice-cream! The service was pleasant and the meal was nicely paced – about 2 hours long. The bill of $110 plus tip was not that expensive for all the food we ate and the amount of time we stayed.

“Take your time and enjoy the view”
Reviewed October 5, 2014Let me open by stating there is confusion about this restaurant here on Tripadvisor. Hobnob is listed twice and reviewed quite differently. This one is ranked #28 while the “other” Hobnob (same signage, same address, same everything) is ranked #74 as I write this. I brought this up to the management of Hobnob and while I can’t explain the situation, I most certainly CAN say that I enjoyed every aspect of my dinner experience.
Situated so close to the lake that they have signs up warning parkers not to drive off the bluff into the water, (see my photo) Hobnob celebrates its Supper Club history. Don’t come here if you’re put off by 60s decor. Don’t come here if you want a $7.00 steak. Don’t come here if you want to be in an out in 27 minutes. DO come here if you’ve got some time to sit back and enjoy your company, the surroundings, courteous service, and a delicious meal.
The place is quite large and was crowded on the Friday night my wife and I, along with another couple, dined here. Our server was Lindsay and she was wonderful. I started with a plate of Blue Points which were plump and delicious. I asked for horseradish and was pleased when Lindsay offered a choice of “sauce” or the real thing. I went real! Any entree you select from their diverse menu comes with soup AND salad. I had the New England clam chowder and caesar with anchovies. Perfect portions to precede the main course. For my entree I was split between duck and wiener schnitzel but ultimately went for the veal and could not have been happier with my decision. Two large cutlets were served—the exterior was perfectly crisp and the veal was tender and flavorful. I chose the traditional “lemon” preparation fitting this traditional Viennese dish, but it is also offered ala holstein with the egg, caper and anchovy treatment. It was the best schnitzel I’ve ever had! I chose the au gratin potatoes which are served in a ramekin on the side. Potatoes and cheese—served harmoniously in Wisconsin. It doesn’t get any better! LOL. We were too stuffed to even contemplate dessert so instead sat a while… chatted… and enjoyed the relaxing pace of a wonderful meal.
